Heute, als ich oben saß, sah ich das Bild mit meiner kleinen Freundin Carolin. Es hängt in der Halle im ersten Stock. Tatsächlich ist Carolin gar nicht mehr so klein. Ich werde sie bald wiedersehen und vielleicht hat sie meine Höhe schon erreicht. Sie ist jetzt zehn Jahre alt und wächst viel. Ich freue mich darauf, sie in Erkelenz zu sehen. Das wird die zweite Station auf meiner Tour in Deutschland sein.
Also freue ich mich darauf, meine Freunde dort zu treffen, aber gleichzeitig vermisse ich das hier schon. Ich bin gerade eben zum Tor und wieder zurück gegangen und habe die friedliche Atmosphäre genossen, die auch in der Nacht sehr besonders ist, wenn man die Sterne sehen kann. Ja, ich werde wieder für fünf Monate weg sein.
Meine Großmutter, die mehr als 85 Jahre alt ist, hat heute gehört, dass wir den Ashram morgen verlassen werden, anstatt am 7. April, wie sie dachte. Sie sagte: „Aber du hast gesagt, ihr würdet am 7. April wieder gehen,ihr habt um einen Tag verkürzt!” Sie ist sehr alt, wir wissen ihr genaues Alter nicht genau, aber sie ist sehr fit im Verstand und kann sich Daten und Zeiten genau merken. Ich habe ihr also erklärt, dass der Flug auch am 7. April in der Früh abfliegt, dass wir aber drei Stunden früher am Flughafen sein müssen und da wir drei Stunden auch nach Delhi brauchen, müssen wir morgen aufbrechen. Und dann sagte sie, was sie immer sagt, wenn ich gehe. Sie weiß nicht, wie lange sie noch leben wird und ob sie mich noch einmal sieht oder nicht. Niemand kann das wissen.
Yashendu ist seit gestern auch wieder da und genießt auch seine letzten Tage hier. Heute hat jemand aus Deutschland ihren Geburtstag gefeiert, indem sie das Essen im Ashram gespendet hat. Ich bin froh, dass immer mehr Menschen die Gelegenheit ergreifen und das schöne Gefühl erleben können, armen Kindern zu Essen gegeben zu haben. Es ist wirklich toll!

I find it to be quite odd that some people repeat mantras but have absolutely no idea what they could possibly mean, but I guess that if they perform it correctly then there really isn’t anything to complain about then. In Mongolia people pay money to the same type of person, a priest to repeat a blessing of some sort but the priest say it in the Tibet Muslim language that they don’t even know what they are reading, they only know that the blessing if for a happy birth or long life.
Swami ji, I have a question after reading your blog, I hope you won’t mind me asking. I have read about these Samskaras of Hindus. One of them is Garbhadhan, would you mind to tell me how does this works to have a priest to perform that or having his presence their at that time, I am a bit confuse about this after reading your blog could you please tell bit more about it.
Hey Richard, I had to smile after reading your question 🙂 please don’t take me wrong. I mean if you have read about it then you would know it too that what does Garbhadan means. As born in priest family I know this and I have been to some of this kind of rituals with my father just to see. I can assure you that no one invites priest for Garbhadan sanskar to be witness or perform rituals while it is taking place. I also would love to hear Swami ji’s answer about this but so far I know, Garbhadan literally means act of conception, which only can be done while having sex. There is not any ritual which involves priest for Garabhadan Sanskar.
Dear Richard, Thank you for your question so others can also get to know about it. As Geetika said, Garbhadhan is the act of conception and for sure you do not need any priest, chanting or rituals for that. But yes, in some Hindu scriptures you do can find information about what is a good month, day and time to conceive and what rituals you can perform before that and what you should do if you want conceive and what you should not, there is a full chart and a long list, which I personally find religious nonsense.
I am sure even priests who claim to be the most religious and following all religious teachings do not do this either when they are performing the act that leads to conception but on the name of religion they teach and sell all these rituals nevertheless.
I wrote in the blog above “The rituals start before you are even born and they go on until after your death.” Here I am talking about the Sanskara (one of the 16 most important rituals) called “Punsavana” which is performed after conception, in the third or fourth month of pregnancy to protect the child.
