This weekend Ramona and I don’t write the diary from Vrindavan, as usually when we are in India, but from Vadodara. Vadodara, or Baroda, is a city in Gujarat, a western state of India. We were invited here a long time ago already by Chirag and his family and could now finally come to visit them here.
By visiting Chirag we are not only visiting a friend and his family. We also came to visit his office. Why? Because Chirag and his team of Indapoint Technologies have done a lot of work on our website. Whenever there are new features, a new design, a new extra for you to use on our website, they have had their fingers in the code.
So at this point we thank the team for their work with some Diwali sweets that we brought from Vrindavan.
Update, 24th October 2011:
After coming back home, we wanted to add some more details about what we actually did in Vadodara. It was a very nice weekend. After visiting the office of Indapoint Technologies and meeting everyone there, we went to see the Lakshmi Vilas Palace in town. That palace is partly open to public and partly still inhabited by the royal family. The building is a masterpiece of architecture, combining elements of different cultures and times in one. Chirag then took us on a ride around town and finally back home where we enjoyed another great Gujarati meal prepared by his wife and mother.
On Sunday we drove a bit out of town to the Champaner Jama Masjid, an old mosque that has recently been declared a world heritage site, so that its beautiful structures with its pillars and carvings can be preserved. Along with us came Chirag’s grandfather – 92 years old but very fit, both mentally and physically.
Back in Vadodara Ramona did some shopping with Chirag’s wife Tanvi and they also brought some typically Gujarati snacks with them to bring back to the Ashram. In the late evening we started towards the train station to take our train back home.
That was a short summary of what we did on the weekend. Our highlight was definitely the nice time with the family and also the great Gujarati food.

So glad you enjoyed the short journey! The website is very nice– Indian technology tends to be at the top when it comes to internet coding and design.I also think it’s quite nice that you went overnight on a train just to visit some business clients/friends for a couple days. Your efforts show that you are a caring and loving soul who is very generous– anyone would be lucky to be your friend!
