So now I am writing to you from India! We have reached the Ashram well and although we are a bit tired, we are all happy to be back!
After writing yesterday’s blog post, we uploaded it and then had another big German breakfast with bread rolls and croissants. Thomas dropped us at the train station from where we took the train directly into the airport – a very practical facility of the Frankfurt airport!
Yashendu will actually fly on Friday in another flight but he came along to drop us off and help with the luggage. That’s how it was not too difficult to get our things until check-in and then to the security control where we had to say goodbye to Yashendu. We reached the gate and although Apra was getting tired, she was still awake and interested to see as much of the airport as she could.
We reached the plane, sat down and she was practically gone the next minute – after insisting to put on the headphones and switching on the children’s program, she fell asleep. For the next two hours, she was peacefully dreaming of planes and the Ashram!
When the pilot welcomed us on board, Ramona was excited to hear that our plane was the one that the German national team of soccer was flying in after they had won the soccer world cup in Brazil!
During the remaining journey, Apra played, ate, looked outside and actually simply had fun on the plane. We were actually impressed by her patience! She didn’t cry or whine about wanting to get out of the plane and several of the ‘emergency toys’ we had packed for her remained untouched. I had told her that she would go to toilet once more before we start landing and the moment when we told her that it was time to go to toilet, she started singing and dancing of joy that we would now arrive.
What a joy when she finally saw her uncle Purnendu who had been waiting patiently for us to come out! In the car, she slept again but woke up when we reached. Although very tired, she had a big smile on her face when she saw Naniji and Babbaji! And I have hardly seen her for the past few hours – she is so busy in re-exploring her home, playing with my grandmother, father and brother and enjoying being at the Ashram. Soon the boys will come home from school – we are looking forward to her joy at this reunion!
India has us back and although there has been a power cut since we arrived and it is quite warm and humid, it feels great to be back. I cannot count anymore how many times I have landed at the airport in Delhi but I still cannot describe the feelings, happiness and thrill I experience each time as well has the joy when we reach the Ashram.
