Maybe you also got to know and I got the news from India and then saw on TV that there were terror attacks in several places of Mumbai. I heard that even now, after more than 24 hours, they still have several people as hostages and firing and bombing is still going on. Many people were killed and many are injured.
With this kind of terror attacks which are in hotels, railway stations or even hospitals you don’t know where humanity has gone. And often this all is even done in the name of religion. It is a shame that some so-called terrorist organizations take responsibility for that with much pride. Suicide bombers are there for dying and do not care about their lives. What worse can happen to them? They will be killed but for that they came. Their aim before that is to spread as much terror as possible. It now happened in Mumbai in India but it can happen anywhere, in any country and city.
I also heard that these terrorists are all young people. How did their brain get washed and filled with these destructive ideas in which they do not have any respect for the life of others or their own? They have definitely lost their relation to their own soul. The craziest thing is that they feel that they are doing something good. They have got this training very well planted in their mind that it is great to spread terror, murder others and then die. They are told that you will be loved by God for this and reach heaven. What kind of people are these who give this education to a young generation? Not any religion teaches this. What can they get or achieve by killing and hurting so many innocent people? How can their soul and God forgive them? I send my prayers for the peace of those souls who were the targets of this terrorism and give all blessings and love to those families who lost their beloved ones.

I was in a terrorist attack in Egypt once. I was talking to a friend about it many years afterwards and she said “it is crazy that you were in a terrorist attack. It is even crazy that someone felt so stuck in life that they blew themselves up to try and kill you.” That put a lot in perspective for me.
Terrorism, things like suicide bombing for example are absolutely crazy. This madness is an extreme or exaggerated version of our own madness. That is why terrorism is a very good teacher. Because what is in a terrorist is an amplified version of what is in us when we get angry or believe very rigidly in a set of rules or feel hate towards someone and blame them for our pain. If you understand this kind of reaction in yourself, you can sympathize with someone who blows themselves up in the name of God. This helps to dissolve the ego that wishes to entirely separate itself from these people and that leads to hate and more violence while at the same time bringing forth your consciousness in a way that happens to make you less like a terrorist than the rest of the world. It is very important to understand your enemy and look upon him with compassion. This does not mean that you do not recognize his madness. On the contrary you will understand it more deeply.
