Dial-up Connection to God – 28 Feb 10

In each religious group, be it a world religion or a small town community, there is a leader, someone to manage and give direction. This has to be like that in any community because people have to come together in some way and make decisions. But with religions the problem is that religious leaders tend to get ego from this that they set up rules that others have to follow.

There are many religions in which the leaders are those who communicate to God for the other ‘normal people’. And many gurus do the same thing. They claim that they talk to God for other people and then let people know what He wants them to do. I would like to ask you: What is your relationship to God?

You do not need a mediator like religion or a guru. You just need to fall in love with God and have your own relation to him, they do not need to arrange your marriage with Him. Religious leaders act as if God is their property and they are the ones to distribute the connection. But they are not the brokers of God. You don’t need to pay them commission to establish the connection. You can just dial in yourself.

I totally agree with this article Swami, however, there has to be some direction and discipline somewhere. This is the responsibility of teachers, guru’s, religious leaders etc. Finding an authentic one is the challenge that humans face. What really disturbs me is not being able to feel whole and complete with what is being distributed amongst the various practices whether it be yoga, buddhism, christiananity, etc.

Absolutely true. I so appreciate these journal entries, and being able to connect every day with this authentic Eastern wisdom, even though I’m 1000s of miles away.
