After coming back from Delhi late yesterday, we all got up a little bit later today and had a wonderful breakfast. With this breakfast in mind I thought I write down the recipe for another breakfast dish so that you, too, have the possibility to cook some nice Indian food in the morning.
Poha – Chiura – Flattened Rice or Rice Flakes Breakfast Recipe
Have a light breakfast with this easy and traditional Indian dish. A recipe that everybody can prepare according to his taste.
How long does it take to make Poha for breakfast?

Total Time:
Ingredients
250 g Potatoes
250 g Poha, Rice Flakes
3 tbsp Olive Oil
1/2 tbsp Black Mustard Seeds
1/2 Lemon
Salt according to taste
How to make Poha
You start with washing the potatoes and peel them right away, too. Cut them into small pieces.
Wash the rice flakes properly in water.
Now you heat up the oil in a deep pan and when it is hot, add the mustard seeds and fry them a little bit while stirring. Put the potatoes into the pan and fry them until they are golden.
When they are nicely roasted you add the Poha into the pan. Add lemon and salt as well as cashewnuts, green peas or any other ingredients you like. Pieces of Paneer are also very tasty in this dish. Keep on stirring for about three minutes.
Your Poha is now ready to serve and your guests will enjoy a light, healthy and tasty breakfast! Who wants to can add some more salt or some more lemon.
Enjoy!
I think we ate this with dinner the other night? It was so yummy! I had a second serving. 🙂 I could also see it being great for breakfast with some yogurt or something. Amazing food! I can’t wait to try these recipes at home.
it’s not only cheap but also easily digestible……….
