The news that we all are listening to these days is the revolution that is going on in Egypt. People want a political revolution, they want democracy and don’t want to see their president Hosni Mubarak anymore, who has been their dictator for the last 30 years and who still does not want to leave his president chair even though he is already 82 years old. He won the last election but only because he was the only candidate. The population doesn’t accept him anymore and wants a change. The dictator’s plan was to transfer his kingdom to his son but the people of Egypt did not see their future in this way. This is how they exploded. The government tried their best to suppress the voice of people raised for democracy by cutting everybody off the world by stopping internet and SMS facilities and even with military forces.
This is a political revolution that people wish for. It is a big change that they want and it has already taken place in their heads. I call this change a spiritual revolution. When you stop obeying to a dictator and wish for democracy, for your voice to be heard. Only in this way, in a real democracy, you can live in freedom.
I like to compare even the world of religion with the world of politics. Religion and any kind of sect simply seem like a dictatorship with the master, guru or religious leader being the dictator. You have to obey the master and the rules of this religion and there are people who take care that you do. Only if you take the step towards your spiritual revolution, you can come out of this suppression. You go towards real spirituality, towards democracy and away from the religious dictatorship of gurus and masters. You have to believe in yourself. You want your voice to get heard? It will be because you are your own master. God is inside you, in your heart.
Make a change, there is always a chance!
It is everywhere and in all surrounding countries like this. First it was Tunisia, now Egypt and in several surrounding countries, such as Yemen, people are preparing to do the same now.Dictatorship is simply not the right concept. In any way, suppression is wrong and it cannot go on forever. All countries will strive for independence, democracy and freedom!
WOW 🙂 very true said I LOVE it !
Thank You, for those words of truth. Erika
I love your words! Yes, you cannot keep your mind any longer suppressed in the dictatorships of religious rules! I have learned in my childhood that God would not love me anymore if I did any sin. I was always so afraid of doing any sin, that slowly i started hating the people who told me this and hated religion. Now I am free of religion and stopped hating it but definitely, my spiritual revolution took place in that time! I can only agree with your words that God is Love but I can never anymore follow any dictator and his rules! This makes a society sick!
This revolution really touches my heart. I just feel this strong energy of hate and anger in the air. The hope to get out of suppression. And this makes for myself, as you said, an inner “spiritual revolution”.It shows me that we are today a…ll connected. We cant say anymore, “O Egypt is far away….who cares” We are all part of it.
“sarvam sarvatmakam” I feel this revolution is a process of an new evolution of human being. So I really pray that we all will find the way to love, peace and understanding which connects as with the supreme.
Well said, Swami Ji. It took the power of spiritual revolution in order to inspire this movement. It was nice to see that much of the rest of the world was very supportive of this fight for democracy. If I was the ruler of a country and all of my people were revolting against me, I couldn’t stay in that position just to keep my pride… I would gladly step down in the honor of my people and the country I love. How could you continue ruling over people who despise you?
