I have told you about the prostitute whom I met in 2006 and with whom I had a talk that changed my view on prostitution. Apart from the fact that she was voluntarily doing this as a job, just as others work in an office, she mentioned some further details that fascinated me or I found interesting. Much of this was about her attitude towards her work.
When I asked how it was, some details about her meeting with her clients, she explained me that she always had very clear limits as to what she would or would not do. There was always a first talk, a conversation in which she got to know what her customer liked and expected and in which she often had to explain her limits.
One of those limits was unsafe sex. I was not surprised to hear that many men didn’t want to use a condom at most activities, especially when she was performing oral sex. Some of them tried to verbally force her to a blowjob without protection but she knew that she could catch bad diseases from this and always stayed safe, also with more kinky preferences.
She herself liked those men the most who were just keen on hugging and loving her ‘the normal way’. Men who maybe felt lonely and who just needed some love.
That is what she emphasized a lot and I really liked it. She told that it fulfilled her to know that she could make someone happy, if only for some hours, and spend a nice time with a man who just didn’t have any other possibility at that point.
‘I even go to old people!’ she continued. ‘I give them some happiness, they give me some money – it’s a fair deal!’ If those old men weren’t able to come to her, she went to see them in their homes. Often they didn’t actually need much. Some kissing and touching was often enough and they felt so good about it that it was impossible for her not to be happy and satisfied about her work.
I really remember this conversation as very fascinating, pleasant and interesting. I liked what she said, the effort and wish to make others feel good, to give them love and share some time with them.
This woman was a businesswoman, she was happy with her work and she enjoyed what she was doing. I couldn’t see anything wrong about it and she didn’t either. Apart from her confidence when it came to her profession, she had a very healthy body image as well. She stayed healthy and fit and she actually liked her body the way it was – something that I had not heard a lot in counselling sessions with women.
I enjoyed the talk – and I had to think a lot of the things she had told me whenever the topic ‘prostitution’ came up in future.
