These days we have a blond little boy at the Ashram. His name is Konsti. He is the center of attraction for all boys who live at the Ashram and all school children like to touch his hair and ask him where he comes from and what his name is. I know him and have been in his home in Germany, too. So I am used to his temperament, his expressions and how he talks. I knew when he would come to the Ashram, he would enjoy his time and everybody would have fun with him. And that’s how it is, the whole day he is playing with the children and everybody enjoys watching them run through the garden. He is a funny and jolly little fellow.
When he talks, he often makes wide gestures and he expresses whatever he is talking about by opening his eyes widely, making faces and grimaces and jumping around on the spot. You thus get a vivid picture of what he is talking about. The day before yesterday Purnendu came into the office where I was sitting and said worriedly ‘I don’t know what, but something must have happened to Konsti. He looks so bothered, annoyed and angry and at the same time excited! He is telling Ramona now what happened but of course in German.’ I went out with him and really, there Konsti was standing in front of Ramona, waving his arms and gesticulating widely, stamping his feet and making big grimaces. I went to them to ask Ramona what happened and if I could help in some way. When I came closer however and had a look into Ramona’s face, I saw that she was smiling! She told me two minutes later that he had just spent fifteen minutes explaining her the whole plot of the movie he had seen on the plane to India! Wonderful!
Konsti is always up in the morning before the rest of his family. One morning he came down and at about nine o’clock in the morning came over to Ramona, saying ‘Ramona, I think I need to have a coke, otherwise I will fall asleep right now!’ With a smile she asked ‘What will your mother say about that?’ ‘Oh, don’t worry! She is still sleeping but I am sure she won’t mind!’
Two days ago, after dinner I asked him if he tried today’s desert, a sweet ball of nuts and flour. He held his belly and said ‘Oh no, I am already so full! I just couldn’t eat anymore!’ We smiled and already turned to talk to each other again, when he said suddenly ‘But do you have some ice-cream left?’ We really laughed and of course found a bowl of ice-cream for him. There is always space for ice-cream and I have never met a child as polite as Konsti!

This story made me laugh and smile. Haha, thank you Swami Ji.
Sounds like you are all keeping good company as usual.
Of course there is always room for ice cream!
Haha this story about the reason Konsti is grimacing is just to funny! I really enjoyed reading this. I’m going to tell this story at work tomorrow.
I want to be like that in life, to have the innocence and zest for everything in the world and to give a smile to everyone as well and do my best for everything…sometimes as an adult that is difficult to do, it’s a challenge but I know that to strive to do it is better than nothing…so I guess I would like to be like Konsti!
