Prakashananda Found Guilty of Sexually Abusing Two Teenage Girls – 8 Mar 11

Some time ago I wrote about Prakashananda, the fake guru whose passport was confiscated in the USA so that he would definitely be in Texas when his trial for sexually abusing minors would start. Now there is news about him: his trial is over, he was found guilty – and ran away! He was supposed to hear his sentence yesterday but just did not show up. Texas is now searching for a missing Swami.

Prakashananda had been arrested in 2008 already and was out on a million-dollar high bail which a follower had paid for him. He had claimed to be in bad health but kept on travelling, even to India. When he arrived back in Texas last year, his passport was taken from him and we got to know that the trial would take place in the beginning of 2011.

His misdeeds had taken place when the two accusing women, now in their 30s, had been teenagers. They and one more female witness reported how he abused them by groping them and kissing them, sticking his tongue in their mouths. The young girls were not able to prevent it. On the contrary, they got the impression that everything was happening as it should. They had been living at the Ashram together with their families and thought he was God, so that was probably what he was supposed to do. Even when they told adults about what happened, they were told that it was a test, that he honoured them and that they should do whatever he wanted. They did not dare to resist the person they saw as God.

This must have happened hundreds of times but the court found him guilty for only 20 times. Nevertheless he obviously is afraid of his sentence and ran, probably together with one of his close female disciples called Vishwambhari.

Prakashananda’s guru Kripalu himself had been accused many times with rape. With Indian jurisdiction he was unfortunately never found guilty and was never sentenced. I am very happy that the American judicial system worked in another way and found Prakashananda guilty even though he had a team of a dozen lawyers work for him. Now they only have to find him.

They will probably anyway speak the sentence today and then, with an arrest warrant, will go out and find Prakashananda wherever he may be. The fact that he is hiding now shows that he is actually guilty to everybody who was not sure before.

I hope this message reaches all the followers of such gurus and swamis! Don’t leave your children to these people if you want to protect them from being abused! Leave those fake gurus who believe they can do anything because they are Gods in the eyes of some!

I cannot believe that he went missing! I mean, they knew he has a lot of money and people to support him and they knew they would give him a sentence in jail, why did they give him the chance to run away? On Friday they said he was guilty and gave him a head start of two days before speaking the judgment on Monday. Crazy world. Just happy that the child molester is so old and fragile that no teenager has to be afraid of him anymore!

This is so horrible. I pity those girls who grew up with this constant abuse. They are scarred for life. What kind of perspective a person will get for life if this happens in childhood! There is a God on earth and he fumbles every girl he can get close to him? And their parents approve! What will such a child think of the world?

I know this man, I met him in Vrindavan at his Guru Ashram when I was there for first and last last time there with my family. He did not do anything with me but some how I could feel his eyes and energy and not only this also the surrounding was very uncomfortable for me to see only or 95% women serving those two old Gurus. I am not at all wonder reading and hearing this all about him because I could feel this very first time I met him. What I am amazed about is that when I can notice and feel this why can’t his dicples who are believing him as God? How anybody can ignor it? I even find that the parents of these girls are also should be triled as well if they had been informed and let it happened?

I just read that Kripalu is cleaning up his organization to finish every trace of Prakashananda. He re-named the organization from Barsana Dham to ‘Radha Madhav Dham’ and now has to lead the Texas Ashram himself – remotely from India:
Barsana Dham now Radha Madhav Dham

Wow this is scary. It is so hard to hear that people who thought they had been growing up surrounded by God have actually been horribly mistreated during these important years of their life. I think that whenever people are in positions of power their actions need to be watched closely. People need to be sure they are not allowed to get away with mistreating others because of their status.

To be honest, I really had no idea of how many guru scandals there have been! This is a really big deal, and I was unaware of it. It makes me sad that this kind of spiritual corruption occurs. I will do my best to spread the word of truth to Americans I know. Just didn’t realize how intense this situation really is…
