Yesterday I said that it can enourmously help your self-esteem if you do something that you really want to learn or do for a little bit of time each day. If you take the example of working out, you can start with a certain amount of exercises and then increase the quantity each day a little. Don’t get impatient please and don’t give yourself a very high goal! Some people recommend that you should make a small goal and lift that goal, too, each day.
I however think that it is not really necessary to think like that. You don’t have to set yourself a goal and then always strive for achieving it. I would say you should enjoy what you are doing so much that you want to do more of it! What I said yesterday is true: afterwards you will definitely feel great about yourself. And you can feel this way also while doing your exercises.
Love the movement of your body! Yes, you maybe cannot stretch as far as you would like and your breath is going very fast already after a little bit of running but it is good to feel this border, too. It is just our mind that finds another excuse each day to say ‘I am anyway not able to do much, so I could fully leave it, too.’ Proudly be yourself in that time, too.
You can run as far as you can and that is okay, tomorrow it will be a little bit further. Wherever you reached today, look at the distance that you have passed, feel that you are sweating, that your body got hot and the muscles worked and be happy about all of this. In sports the way is really the goal. If a player only enjoyed playing if he won the match, he would not be very happy in his profession. Don’t let your mind stop you from enjoying as much you can!

it is often discouraging to miss your goals. And it is easier to throw away your goals than to try again after failing. an unfortunate way of thinking.
It’s true, Swami. A focus on winning in competitions is not the way to enjoy the experience itself. You should desire to try your best regardless of the result, and enjoy the movement of your body.
Many people are not aware of the benefits of cardiovascular exercise. It doesn’t have to be much, either. 15 or even 10 minutes of cardiovascular exercise each day is fantastic for your body. It helps relieve stress, improve the strength of heart and muscles, and increase metabolism. These days, risk of death from cardiovascular disease or heart attack is ever-increasing. Even people who are lean but don’t do cardio exercise are more likely to suffer a heart attack than someone who is overweight and performs cardiovascular exercise (of course considering diet as well). So get the blood pumping and sweat…it feels amazing!
Sports were always meant to be a form of keeping your body fit. What a wonderful feeling after some exercices or a run or even a simple walk in the garden! In the first place sports should be regarded as a gift to your body and then you can think about competition 😉
