Today I read something in a newspaper which I think many people are not aware of although it is something that everybody should know. The article said that a woman in her daily morning ritual puts in average 515 different chemicals onto her body. These chemicals are in make-up, lipstick, hairspray and shampoo, body lotion, perfume as well as deodorant.
I know many people who know about these chemicals and who like to use more natural products to avoid the side effects of these chemicals which can be allergies, rashes, hormone disturbances and even cancer. Who thinks this when he buys a body lotion to moisturize the skin and do something good for the body? And this lotion has been advertised very broadly in the Media so it has to be something good, right?
This is what I believe is wrong. If the industries know that these products are harmful, that they can seriously damage the body structure, then why do they produce them? How can it be that they don’t want to use healthier alternatives? Because it is cheaper? Can this be the reason for damaging the body? Then it might be healthier not to use all of this. I will write more about this tomorrow.
Today it is our friend Regina’s birthday and we all, the whole Ashram family and all children, wish her lots of love and happiness! The children celebrated her birthday during lunch.

You know, harming your body for the sake of beauty has been around for so long. I too am shocked that harmful chemicals are still in beauty products with all the technological advances around.
It is really frightening how many things the media hides from us. It is so hard to know if what we are told is the truth or not.
In America, they use all kinds of tricky words now on food products like “all-natural,” “natural flavors,” “organic,” “sugar-fee,” “trans-fat free,” etc. to try to convince people that it is healthy. But you find out later that, even though they are calling a food “organic,” it has to be called “100% USDA certified organic” in order to ACTUALLY be organic. What a joke! I guess money really is valued over health…how sad.
My friends and I now have a policy where we don’t take many things seriously that come from American news broadcasts… we verify it with BBC news and other world news first!
