These days, Apra is in seventh heaven! Sitting at the computer and looking outside, I can see her dancing and singing in the Ashram hall and I decided to share her happiness with you, too!
First, Yashendu’s girlfriend Eva arrived. Apra is good friends with her and so she was very excited when she was about to come. She so much wanted to come along to the airport to pick Eva up that Yashendu was even ready to take her along, had it not been so late in night! She was ready to go though and fell asleep in her clothes while waiting. When she woke up in the morning, she asked whether she had picked Eva up – and we told her yes, she had, she had just slept through it all! A little sentence that made her very happy!
Soon Diwali was there and she got so very excited about it! The lights everywhere, the sweets that were made – and then she was finally allowed to light oil lamps herself with a wax candle! Amazing!
A few days later, her grandparents and aunt were going to come! Again, she insisted on picking them up and again, she did in her dreams. She told amazing stories of how she imagines herself to have picked up everyone at the airport!
Since Opa, Oma and two Evas are here now, she seems to be having a constant party! Everybody had brought presents for her which she of course now exploring, eating and enjoying but she just also loves being with everyone! The Ashram staff, her aunties, uncles and brothers, are laughing: since the German relatives are here, she is always with them and has not talked a word with the people with whom she usually spends her time – she is too busy!
Yesterday, she asked me a question which showed me what is on her mind: ‘When will Thomas and Iris come?’ Now that so many of her German friends are here, a few are still missing! We could tell her that Michael and Andrea will soon come – and she knows now that Thomas and Iris are planning to come after Holi!
The excitement and joy is indescribable. Of course, it is also a special time with lots of activities, sightseeing and more sweets than usually – but even just at home, she simply sings and dances, jumps around full of joy and is in the best mood!
You have to let yourself be happy with her – you don’t really have a choice! 🙂
